South African Superstar, Kyle Buckingham, took a solid 4th place in one of the fastest Ironman competitions ever held in Port Elizabeth this past Sunday.
The race was won by American Ben Hoffman who set a new course record of under 8hrs, with German Nils Frommhold in 2nd (also under 8hours) and Brit David McNamee in 3rd. Kyle’s overall time was 8hrs08min58sec running a personal best marathon of 2hrs47min.
“I had such a great race today. I have never felt so good running in a marathon in my career and to pull off a time of 2h47 makes me even happier as this is my PB. I woke up this morning feeling really good and I pulled off all 3 disciplines perfectly for so early in the year! I could not be more happier coming down the finish line with all the amazing support I received,” said elated Buckingham.
