4 Peaks Trail Run, arguably one of the toughest 24km trail runs in South Africa, has signed a 3 year title sponsorship deal with Trappers Bloemfontein to take this iconic event to new highs and will now be known as the Trappers Bloemfontein 4 Peaks Mountain Challenge presented by Bloemfontein Courant.
“It’s really great for us, as a Bloemfontein based business, to have a local Bloem business like Trappers supporting our iconic event and really giving it a true Free State feel,” says race organiser, Adrian Saffy from Pure Adventures. “4 Peaks is a mountain run, but it is based on an outdoor lifestyle and that fits the Trappers brand like a glove. Trappers share the same passion we have for the outdoors and we look forward to partnering with them on 4 Peaks for the next 3 years.”
With a vertical accent of over 1800m, 4 Peaks is a completely unsupported race taking place on the picturesque Moolmanshoek Private Game Reserve, where four very distinctive peaks make up the race as one circle around the Moolmanshoek valley. The lodge at Moolmanshoek becomes a hub of activities for the whole family during the weekend, including a kiddie’s treasure hunt, game drives and horse riding for those that are not participating in the race. The Pyramid Challenge, a vertical ascent and decent of 300m over 2.7km, takes place on the Sunday morning for those that still have some petrol in the legs. “4 Peaks is a is a self-supported and self-navigational race and as the route is circular it makes it a good entry level event for those that are looking for something more challenging than running on the trail,” says Adrian. “The 24 Km should not fool you into a false sense of security as this is Extreme Mountain running and is the equivalent to an ultra-marathon. This is a great weekend for the entire family and the event is always evolving to create more fun and entertainment for the entire family and is a must for your race calendar.”
Avid Trail runner Nadia Raimondo, a buyer for Trappers completed her first 4 peaks last year, “Trappers is an outdoor adventure brand and I immediately realised the synergy between Trapper and 4 Peaks so we had no hesitation in getting involved as a Sponsor for the event and extremely excited about supporting the 4 Peaks race over the next three years.”
